Eco/Botanical Printing with Cochineal and Tannin

Cochineal, a small but important bug that makes its home on cacti, is responsible for subtle to strong reds in the world of natural dyes. Learn how to prepare the cochineal bug for dyeing and then explore the wonderful techniques of eco printing by combining tannin and a mordant/modifier on silk scarves. See how your shades vary from reds to pinks, purples to greys. In addition, use leaves from the eucalyptus plant to add eco prints to your four beautiful scarves. Limit 6 students.No experience necessary.

You will complete 4 scarves that  measure 9″ by 72″

Cost is $150.00 and this includes material and supplies.

All registrations are done via phone or email and must be prepaid. Other felting classes can be arranged by appointment. Private and group instruction available. Contact Robbin at 651-263-7275 for details. If you cancel a class 2 or more weeks ahead of class, there will be a 10% cancellation fee. If you cancel less than 2 weeks before class, there will be a 50% cancellation fee. If you cancel the day before or day of class there will be no refunds. A full refund will be made if a class is canceled by the instructor.
